• Relive the Descent (La Bajada), La Palma's major celebration

  • La Bajada Visitor Information Centre is an innovative, interactive exhibit that allows the visitor to learn about the Quinquennial Celebrations in Honour of the Virgen de Las Nieves. It is located in a renovated heritage building in the Barrio de San Sebastián neighbourhood in the heart of the old city, next to Calle O'Daly or Calle Real street.

This centre offers you a unique opportunity: to learn about and participate in a celebration that only takes place every five years, with some of the most amazing and attractive events on the Spanish holiday calendar like the Dance of Dwarfs, the Minuet, the Pandorga and the Dialogue between the Fort and the Ship.

Feel like part of a unique celebration and understand why the people of La Palma keep time with reference to one Descent and the next.
